Cariatiz Walk and Procession - only once a year on the Sunday nearest to May 1st
Secret Spain day trip to the Cariatiz procession through the beautiful countryside rarely travelled by tourists. Follow the path of the pilgrimage of the patron Saint of Cariatiz - Santo Gonzalo de Amaranto attended by local people in traditional costume accompanied by dancers and singers. Passing through abandoned villages and open to spectacular vistas - all at a leisurely pace (easy enough for children to participate). Only a gentle walking route of six/seven kilometres in total, with picnic lunch, wine, beer and afternoon refreshments included and transportation to and from Cariatiz from various pick-up points at a price of €26 (Euro) per person.
